Thinking about becoming a police officer?
The Missouri Western State University Regional Law Enforcement Academy is certified by the Missouri Department of Public Safety, Peace Officer's Standards and Training Commission, as a certified academy. The academy exceeds the State of Missouri's minimum basic training requirements for peace officer certification and results in a POST certificate. Two academies are offered: a full-time, day academy and a part-time, evening academy.

Part-time Academy
The next part-time, evening academy begins May 8, 2013. Designed to meet the needs of individuals who are unable to attend a full-time or day-time academy. Consists of three separate classes taken consecutively over the course of one year.
Full-time Academy
The next full-time, day academy begins July 1, 2013. Two basic full-time police academy classes are held per year. The program lasts approx. 23 weeks, Monday-Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
