This program is designed to help students develop skills in playing chamber music. The string quartet provides a unique opportunity for each player to become a more confident and independent musician by playing a part that is different from the other three. At the same time, it promotes ensemble skills and group unity. The quartet will consist of 1 viola, 1 cello, and 2 violin students. Requirements are: Be a violin, viola or cello student; Have at least one year of experience playing with an orchestra; Audition for the quartet coach; and Commit to a 12-week session in the fall semester and a 12-week session in the spring semester.
