ELL certification from the State of Missouri can be earned through the following courses: GRADUATE TSL697 Methods of Teaching Second Language Students UNDERGRADUATE TSL468 Methods of Teaching Second Language Students These classes are open to ALL teachers whether or not you are seeking ELL certification. Rationale and Purpose Other areas of study include assessment techniques to ensure that students are meeting the AYP requirements of No Child Left Behind. Acquisition of a second language will be discussed for a better understanding of what is required of our ELL students in order to complete the basic tasks required in the classroom. Materials will be presented that will increase the comprehension of ELL students while allowing the classroom teacher to address the learning styles of all students. The endorsement to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages consists of 21 hours of coursework in addition to certification in another area. All courses offered in this program meet the requirements for certification.
