LETTERS FOR LITERACY

Changing Lives One Letter at a Time

Did you know in Buchanan County:

• 1 in 10 adults struggles with reading?

• Nearly 1 in 5 adults over 25 years old is without a high school diploma or GED?

• Each year, illiteracy costs communities millions of dollars in lost productivity and job growth?

You can make a difference.

MORE WAYS
TO HELP

Your sponsorship of a letter will help to improve adult literacy in our community.

Pass the Power, which is funded exclusively through local donations and grants, is committed to providing free and confidential one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction to individuals qualifying for services.

The Letters for Literacy project will help to ensure that Pass the Power can continue to train community volunteers to tutor in reading, writing and math.

You can request a letter that best represents:

• your organization's name
• a value your company supports
• a member of your organization
• Examples: Sponsor "A" for "A-to-Z Corporation," or for your granddaughter "Audrey.

Sponsorship levels range from $250-$500 per letter. All donations are tax deductible as allowable by law

Each participating individual or organization will receive a framed certificate and a wooden letter decorated by a Pass the Power student to display. All sponsors will be honored at the annual Literacy Luncheon in the spring.

The Letters for Literacy Project is a smart investment in the future:
Your support will provide students with books and supplies. In addition, it will build Pass the Power’s capacity to support volunteer tutors and adult learners.

For less than $21 a month you can sponsor a letter of the alphabet for
one year.
